November 17, we observe World Prematurity Day, a reminder of the ongoing challenges faced by babies born too soon and the families who care for them. Prematurity remains a major cause of illness and death in young children, but early detection, consistent prenatal care, and timely intervention can make a profound difference.

Our clinic stands with preterm infants, their families, and the healthcare teams working to give every baby the best possible start.

RSV can cause severe illness in newborns.
Pregnant women are advised to receive a single dose of the RSV vaccine (Abrysvo) between 32 weeks and 36 weeks + 6 days of gestation—ideally at least 2 weeks before delivery to allow antibody transfer to the baby.

In the Philippines, RSV infections are most common from June to December, so vaccination during this period provides the best protection for infants during the peak season.

Talk to your OB-GYN about the right timing for your RSV vaccination to help protect your newborn from severe respiratory infection.
