The Rural Health Unit successfully conducted PuroKalusugan at Barangay Sampad, Balud Masbate on March 27, 2026, through the collaborative efforts of Dr. Emerson O. Almero Jr., DTTB, Maโ€™am Hermelita D. Gonzales, DMO IV, and the dedicated RHU personnel.

A total of 73 clients were provided with medical consultations, including 9 Hypertension (HPN) and 1 Diabetes Mellitus (DM) cases monitored, along with 14 Random Blood Sugar (RBS) tests conducted to support early detection and management of non-communicable diseases.

In addition, 36 PhilHealth registrations and updates were facilitated to ensure continued access to essential healthcare services.

Dental services were also delivered to 46 patients, including 43 fluoride applications, 3 adult check-ups, and 2 pediatric tooth extractions, promoting better oral health within the community.

This activity reflects the unwavering commitment of the RHU team, together with our partners, in bringing comprehensive and accessible healthcare services closer to every purokโ€”ensuring that no one is left behind. ๐Ÿ’™

Bilang kabahin sang PhilHealth YAKAP program, ang RHU Balud team nagpatigayon sang face-to-face liveliness check sa mga miyembro agud masiguro nga updated ang ila health records kag padayon sila nga makabenepisyo sa medikal na serbisyo. Paagi sa personal nga pagbisita, amon na-verify ang membership, nakahatag sang tama na impormasyon, kag nasabat ang mga pamangkot sang mga kliyente, nga nagahatag baskog nga koneksyon sa PhilHealth kag komunidad.

Ini nga inisyatibo nagapakita sang kahulugan sang YAKAP โ€“ Your Active Kaagapay Program โ€“ kun sa diin ang PhilHealth nagapalapit mismo sa gusto maging miyembro kag dati na nga miyembro. PuroKalusugan at Barangay Jintotolo, Balud Masbate| MARCH 13, 2026

The Rural Health Unit (RHU) team, in partnership with the Barangay Council of Brgy. Jintotolo, successfully conducted PuroKalusugan, bringing essential health services directly to the community. This activity aims to strengthen primary healthcare delivery and ensure that residents, especially those in remote areas, have access to basic and preventive health services.

Through the collective efforts of the RHU personnel and the active support of the Barangay officials, a total of 386 clients were served during the activity. Various health services were provided, including 113 medical consultations, addressing different health concerns of community members. Dental services were also delivered, with 108 fluoride applications and 12 dental extractions to promote oral health among residents.

In support of universal health care, 87 residents were assisted with PhilHealth registration and membership updates, helping ensure that more individuals can access health benefits when needed. Screening services were also conducted, including 55 Random Blood Sugar (RBS) tests to identify individuals at risk of diabetes and monitor existing cases.

Preventive health services were also prioritized. A total of 11 children received vaccines under the National Immunization Program (NIP) to help protect them from vaccine-preventable diseases. Maternal health services were likewise provided, with 12 prenatal consultations, including the identification of 4 newly registered pregnant mothers who will now be monitored throughout their pregnancy.

Additionally, 36 clients with hypertension (HPN) and 7 clients with diabetes mellitus (DM) were assessed and monitored to ensure proper management of their conditions and to promote healthier lifestyles.

The success of this activity reflects the strong collaboration between the Barangay Council and the RHU team, united in their commitment to deliver accessible, quality, and community-based healthcare services.

Through PuroKalusugan, the RHU continues to reach every purok, ensuring that no one is left behind in the pursuit of a healthier and stronger community in Brgy. Jintotolo. ๐Ÿ’™

It has been a productive and meaningful week for the RHU Balud team as we continue to strengthen health services and programs.

๐Ÿ“Œ Health System Resilience Project (HSRP) Team visited RHU Balud, providing guidance and support to our health initiatives.

๐Ÿ“Š Integrated Data Quality Check Activity conducted March 10โ€“13, 2026 in Sorsogon with Jhonna A. Medina PHN II to ensure accurate and reliable health data.

๐Ÿ“ Training on the Formulation of the Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) March 11โ€“13, 2026 held in Legazpi with Ms. Jennifer A. Agana, aimed at enhancing planning and development in the community.

๐Ÿ“š Rabies Management Training for ABTC (Animal Bite Treatment Center) conducted March 10โ€“13 in Naga with June B. Orense RN, MD- MHO and Fiorella V. Degala Nurse II strengthening our capacity to manage animal bite cases effectively in preparation for our licensing as an Animal Bite Treatment Center (ABTC).

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€โš•๏ธ 24/7 Birthing Services continuously provided by our dedicated midwives to ensure safe delivery and maternal care.

PuroKalusugan Conducted at Brgy. Cantil, Balud Masbate| MARCH 12, 2026

The Rural Health Unit team successfully conducted Purok Kalusugan at Brgy. Cantil, bringing essential health services closer to the community. The activity was led by Dr. Emerson O. Almero Jr., MD (DTTB) together with Janica Sol Lopez, Dentist, Eunice B. Veneranda,RMT, and the dedicated HRH nurses, through a collaborative effort to address the priority health needs of the residents.

A total of 309 patients were served during the activity through the different health services provided by the team. These included 85 PhilHealth registrations and updates, helping residents access health insurance benefits. Oral health services were also delivered with 43 fluoride applications for children. The team provided 121 medical consultations to assess and manage various health concerns of community members.

Screening and preventive services were also conducted, including 25 Random Blood Sugar (RBS) tests for early detection of possible diabetes cases. Immunization services under the National Immunization Program (NIP) were given to 20 children, ensuring protection against vaccine-preventable diseases. Maternal health services were also provided to 15 pregnant women for proper monitoring and guidance.

Additionally, monitoring and management were conducted for 45 Hypertension (HPN) clients and 7 Diabetes Mellitus (DM) clients to ensure continuous care and follow-up for non-communicable diseases.

Through this outreach activity, the health team remains committed to strengthening community-based health services and ensuring that quality healthcare is accessible to every resident of Brgy. Cantil. Together, we continue to work toward a healthier community for all. ๐Ÿฉบ๐Ÿ‘จโ€โš•๏ธโค๏ธ

Bringing Health Services Closer to the Community | PuroKalusugan at Brgy. Ilaya Balud, Masbate.

The Rural Health Unit team successfully conducted PuroKalusugan at Brgy. Ilaya to bring essential health services closer to the community. This activity focused on addressing priority health concerns such as;
๐Ÿ’‰Low immunization coverage
๐ŸคฐLow maternal care utilizationand
๐Ÿ‘ตInadequate risk assessment among Hypertension (HPN) and Diabetes Mellitus (DM) clients.

During the activity, a total of 292 patients were served through various health services. Preventive and basic health services provided included 104 general check-ups, 72 fluoride applications for children, 22 immunizations under the National Immunization Program, 10 prenatal consultations, 5 Random Blood Sugar (RBS) screenings, 10 urinalysis tests, and
84 liveness checks for community monitoring. Additionally, 21 HPN clients and 7 DM clients were assessed and monitored to strengthen early detection and proper management of non-communicable diseases.

Through PuroKalusugan, the team continues to strengthen community-based health services by promoting preventive care, maternal health, immunization, and regular health risk assessment to improve the overall well-being of residents.

HEALTH ACTIVITY | FEBRUARY 23, 2026

In partnership with Culion Foundation, Inc., we successfully conducted a Free Chest X-ray activity in our community, catering to a total of 189 patients. This initiative aims to promote early detection of tuberculosis and other pulmonary conditions, ensuring timely management and treatment.

Through the collaborative efforts of our local health team and Culion Foundation, Inc., we were able to provide accessible services, especially to those who have limited access to healthcare. The overwhelming participation reflects the communityโ€™s growing awareness of the importance of preventive health services.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Culion Foundation, Inc. for their continued support in strengthening public health programs. Together, we move closer to a healthier, TB-free community.๐ŸŒฑ๐Ÿฉป
