A couple things to remember about ivermectin:
Ivermectin is approved for use in treating many parasitic diseases in humans. A number of studies have been done on ivermectin and COVID-19 and have failed to demonstrate a positive impact on either prevention or treatment. More data are coming, but data to support its use are currently lacking. The FDA adamantly states that ivermectin has not been authorized or approved for use in preventing or treating COVID-19. Taking large doses of ivermectin is dangerous and can result in serious health consequences, overdose, and death.
Animal formulations of ivermectin are used to treat or prevent parasites in animals, such as livestock and horses. Ivermectin meant for animals that weigh hundreds of pounds is very different from the tablets prescribed for humans and can be toxic in humans.
