MMMH&MC has joined in celebrating World Hand Hygiene Day, led by the hospital's Infection and Prevention Control Committee (IPCC). The celebration took place today, May 6, 2024, after the flag-raising ceremony at the OPD Covered Court.
During the celebration, different hospital departments were recognized for achieving the highest hand hygiene compliance rates. NICU-B was awarded 1st Place with a 100% compliance rate, followed closely by the 3rd Floor Annex and PICU A at 95.83% and 95.24%, respectively.
Present to give the awards were the Medical Center Chief, Dr. Maria Lourdes K. Otayza; the Chief Medical and Professional Staff II, Dr. Jose B. Orosa III; Epidemiologist, Dr. Sheryl Q. Racelis; the Finance Management Officer, Dr. Ronalyn Tabur; OIC-CAO Ms. Kapelhoff Quidang; and OIC-Chief Nurse Mr. Jhey-Ar Mangati.
Following the awarding, the participants immersed themselves to a fun Zumba session promoting physical activity while emphasizing the importance of maintaining clean hands for overall health.
The IPCC also distributed 100 hand hygiene kits to the attendees to encourage continued dedication to this practice.
