World Cancer Day: Head & Neck Cancer Awareness

On February 13, 2026, in observance of World Cancer Day, the Department of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery of Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center held an educational lecture to raise awareness about head and neck cancer.

The session was led by Dr. Ronald Sadian, along with Dr. Anthony Balan and Dr. Joanne Bognadon. They discussed important topics such as risk factors, early warning signs, prevention, and available treatment options.

More than anything, this serves as a gentle reminder to all of us—don’t ignore symptoms that persist. It’s always best to have them checked early, because early detection can truly save lives.

Why Timely ENT Consultation Saves Lives

Waiting it out can be risky. Many serious ENT conditions start with mild, common symptoms—sore throat, hoarseness, nasal blockage.

Seeing an ENT specialist early allows for:
✔️ Accurate diagnosis
✔️ Prompt treatment
✔️ Better outcomes

Timely consultation saves lives.
