Day 2 (October 23) of the World Occupational Therapy Day

The Occupational Therapists of the Mariano Marcos Memorial Hospital and Medical Center, through its "Laruang Kalinga" project, distributed 56 loot bags and 56 stuffed toys to the pediatric inpatients, on Day 2 of the World Occupational Therapy Day celebration. The "Laruang Kalinga" project was conceptualized in 2022, wherein stuffed toys and loot bags were used as therapeutic tools, to relieve the stress and anxiety of hospitalized children, who experienced the October 2022, 6.4 earthquake in llocos. Now on its third-year, a total of 171 toys ๐งธ ๐งธ, 97 educational kits and 156 loots bags ๐ฌ๐ญ were distributed, either through the "Trick or Treat" activities ๐๐ป, as birthday gifts ๐ to pediatric patients diagnosed with cancer, and as therapeutic tool to anxious patients admitted in the hospital.
Joining the celebration this year are, the DOH Undersecretary - Dr. Maria Rosario Clarissa Singh-Vergeire, DOH - Ilocos Regional Director - Dr. Paula Paz M. Sydiongco, Chief of Medical Professional Staff - Dr. Jose Orosa III. The Doctors and Dental Aide from the Department of Dental Medicine distributed dental kits and Medical Social Workers likewise assisted during distribution.
