We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to MMSU Laboratory High School - Batac for warmly welcoming us and allowing us to conduct our community health initiative on HIV Awareness and S*x Education last March 28, 2026.

This activity served as an avenue to empower students with accurate, evidence-based knowledge on HIV prevention, transmission, stigma reduction, and the importance of responsible sexual health practices. Through open discussion and active participation, we hope to continue fostering awareness, understanding, and safer, healthier communities among the youth.

Thank you to the faculty, staff, and students for your enthusiasm, cooperation, and support in making this initiative meaningful and successful. Together, let us continue advocating for informed choices, compassion, and HIV awareness for all.

HIV doesn't always show itself right away—it moves in stages, sometimes quietly, but continuously affecting the body.

2️⃣ Chronic HIV Infection: The virus stays in the body, often without obvious signs, while gradually weakening the immune system.

The Department of Health (DOH) is proposing the declaration of national public health emergency due to the significant increase in the number of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) cases across the country.

57 daily infections is alarming, specially the youth aging from 15-25.

The agency reminded of the HIV preventive measures, such as taking HIV test, which is free and confidential; use of condom, lubricant and pre-exposure prophylaxis medicine, which reduces risk of HIV infection; and undergoing consultation and take antiretroviral therapy for those who need it.
