Dengue cases are rising in our clinics, so let's refresh our awareness on caring for our children.

Dengue can be tricky, so if your child gets it, staying calm and being informed is key.

Remember, the best approach involves you, plenty of care, and your pediatrician! 👍❤️

Be alert for these RED FLAGS: severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, any uncontrolled bleeding, or extreme lethargy/irritability. If you notice any, seek immediate medical attention!

Hey everyone! 👋 You might have heard more about MPOX recently, and it's important to stay informed. We've seen a few new cases in the Philippines, including a 3-year-old girl in Zamboanga Sibugay and 10 cases in South Cotabato.

The Department of Health (DOH) emphasizes that it spreads mainly through close skin-to-skin contact, not easily airborne like other viruses. DOH Spokesperson Albert Domingo also reminded the public, "...hindi lahat ng butlig ay mpox..." so awareness of the specific symptoms can be useful.

With that, we've put together a simple comparison table to show how MPOX is different from other more common rash and fever illnesses you might already know about.

BIG REMINDER: Please, please, please don't self-diagnose! 🙏 Rash and fever can be tricky, and there are many causes. The best thing to do is call your pediatrician right away! They'll tell you what to do and what to expect. A check up in the ER isolation room might be needed.

A super important note: Always keep anyone with a rash and fever away from other babies, pregnant moms, the elderly, and those undergoing cancer treatment because they can easily get infected.

Stay safe and healthy, everyone! ❤️

Hello, new mommies and daddies! Is your baby crying all the time? It could be colic and that can be tough. It's absolutely okay to feel overwhelmed. Remember, it's alright to take a little breather and reach out to others for support. After feeding, burping, and changing, gently lay your little one safely in their crib for a moment. 🤗

Contact your pediatrician if you notice your baby is not gaining weight, seems to have a weak suck or is less active than usual, has a fever, has bloody or unusual p**p color, or is persistently vomiting or spitting up.

You don't have to do this alone. ❤️

Fever is something we all experience from time to time, and it has various causes, including infectious and non-infectious conditions. How doctors treat a fever depends on its duration and the patient's age; for example, a fever lasting a day in a ten-year-old usually needs a different approach than a twelve-hour fever in a one-month-old baby.

It's all about giving the right care at the right time. 😀

The best place for a proper consultation is still the clinic, face to face. So when a doctor takes time to reply to you outside of that, be grateful—it’s a sign that they truly care.
