🛡️🤰Safe ba ang Anti-Rabies Vaccine sa Buntis?
Sagutin natin!

✅ Oo, ligtas ito! Hindi ito live virus vaccine kaya walang panganib na maipasa ang rabies virus sa baby sa sinapupunan.
✅ Ayon sa WHO, walang masamang epekto sa buntis o sa baby ang anti-rabies vaccine.
⚠️ Mas delikado kung hindi magpapabakuna ang buntis na may exposure sa rabies — dahil ang rabies ay halos 100% fatal kapag nagka-sintomas.

📌 Paalala:
Kung malala ang sugat at hindi pa bakunado, maaaring kailangan din ang RIG (ERIG o HRIG) — ligtas din ito para sa buntis.

💡Anong dapat gawin ng buntis na nakagat o nakalmot?
1. Hugasan agad ang sugat ng dumadaloy na tubig at sabon sa loob ng 15 minuto.
2. Pumunta agad sa Head to Toe Animal Bite Center o ospital.
3. Sabihin sa doktor na ikaw ay buntis para ma-monitor nang maayos ang pagbabakuna.

Alam mo ba na kahit gasgas o balat lang na nadikitan ng laway ng hayop ay puwedeng magdulot ng rabies? 😱
Ang rabies ay 100% fatal kapag nagpakita na ng sintomas — kaya huwag itong balewalain!

Ano ang dapat gawin?
✅ Hugasan agad ang sugat gamit ang dumadaloy na tubig at sabon sa loob ng 15 minuto
✅ Magtungo agad sa Animal Bite Center para sa tamang bakuna
✅ I-monitor ang alagang hayop sa loob ng 14 araw

🔴 Tandaan: Kahit alaga mong hayop, kung hindi kumpleto ang bakuna at palabas-labas sa bahay, posible pa rin silang may rabies.

Animal bites—whether from a dog, cat, or wild animal—can lead to serious infections like tetanus, especially if the wound is deep or dirty.

💉 Tetanus is dangerous, but preventable!
Here are the 3 types of anti-tetanus treatments used depending on your condition:
1. ✅ Tetanus Toxoid (TT)
• A vaccine that gives long-term protection
• Given if your last tetanus shot was over 5–10 years ago
2. 🚨 Anti-Tetanus Serum (ATS)
• Offers quick, short-term protection

Totoo ba? Myths vs. Facts tungkol sa Rabies

Rabies: Hindi ito biro. Alamin ang katotohanan.

❌ MYTH 1:

“Hindi naman ako nakagat, nadilaan lang. Safe na siguro ako.”
✅ FACT:
Hindi totoo. Ang laway ng hayop na may rabies ay pwedeng puma*ok sa katawan sa pamamagitan ng bukas na sugat, gasgas, o mucous membranes (mata, bibig, ilong). Dila, gasgas, o kagat — lahat yan pwedeng magdulot ng rabies.

❌ MYTH 2:

“Maliit lang naman ang sugat. Hindi na siguro kailangan ng bakuna.”
✅ FACT:
Kahit gaano kaliit ang sugat, basta galing sa hayop na posibleng may rabies — kailangan pa rin ng bakuna. Mas mabuti ang sigurado kaysa magsisi.

❌ MYTH 3:

“Kapag hindi nangangagat ang hayop, wala siyang rabies.”
✅ FACT:
Hindi lahat ng hayop na may rabies ay agresibo. Iba sa kanila ay tahimik lang pero infected na pala. Hindi dapat basehan ang ugali ng hayop sa pag-assess ng rabies risk.

❌ MYTH 4:

“Kapag 3 araw na at wala pa akong nararamdaman, ligtas na ako.”
✅ FACT:
Ang sintomas ng rabies sa tao ay maaaring lumabas sa loob ng ilang linggo hanggang buwan. Kapag lumabas na ang sintomas, wala nang lunas.

❌ MYTH 5:

“May gamot naman ang rabies pag tinamaan.”
✅ FACT:
Walang lunas ang rabies kapag nagkaroon na ng sintomas. Kaya napakahalaga ng agarang bakuna pagkatapos makagat, magasgas, o madilaan.

Understanding the danger of RABIES
• What is Rabies?
A deadly virus transmitted through the saliva of infected animals, mostly via bites or scratches.
• How is it transmitted?
Primarily through dog bites, but also from cats, bats, and other mammals.
• Why is it dangerous?
Rabies is 100% fatal once symptoms appear. There is no cure, but it is 100% preventable with the right action.
• Who is at risk?
Everyone, but especially children and people living in areas with many stray animals.
• Symptoms of Rabies in Humans:
Fever, headache, confusion, fear of water (hydrophobia), hallucinations, paralysis.

⚠️ ALERTNESS

Recognize the Risk and Respond Quickly
• Be alert after any bite or scratch from a dog, cat, or wild animal—even if it seems minor.
• Don’t wait for symptoms. Once they appear, it’s too late.
• Watch for rabies signs in animals: sudden aggression, foaming at the mouth, unusual behavior.

🏃‍♀️ ACTION

Steps to Take Immediately After a Bite
1. Wash the wound immediately with soap and running water for at least 15 minutes.
2. Go to the nearest Animal Bite Treatment Center (ABTC) as soon as possible.
3. Get post-exposure prophylaxis (PEP):
• ERIG/HRIG (Anti-Rabies Serum) for Category III bites (deep wounds, bleeding, or bites near the face or hands).
• Anti-Rabies Vaccine—a series of injections that protect you from the virus.
4. Report the incident to local authorities or animal control, especially if the animal is stray or unvaccinated.
5. Educate others—especially children—on how to avoid animal bites.

✅ ACTION SAVES LIVES!
• Rabies is preventable if treated early.
• Always treat every animal bite or scratch as an EMERGENCY.
• Vaccinate your pets and avoid contact with stray or wild animals.
