The Karakoa is the traditional warship of the Philippines used by native Filipinos, notably by the Kapampangans and by the Visayans during sea raids, the Karakoa are also used as a trading ship during peace time.

The Karakoa are equipped with platforms for transporting hundreds of native Filipino rowers and warriors, known as Joangas.

SUNFLOWER GALAXY ✨

NASA captivated space enthusiasts with an image of the spiral Sunflower galaxy (Messier 43), located millions of light-years away in northern constellation Canes Venatici.

“The Sunflower galaxy is a flocculent spiral galaxy. That means its spiral arms aren’t well defined, so it looks like there are many that appear to be winding around its yellow core,” the space agency explained.

“In reality, there are just two. The arms shine bright thanks to recently formed, blue–white giant stars,” NASA added, noting that Messier 63 is a perfect example to study star formation in flocculent spiral galaxies. (Instagram/NASA)
