Good morning!

I'm sure many of us as well are concerned about what is happening in the world.

Climate Change and the effects it has on our immediate environment--such as air quality, susceptibility to drought and flooding, abnormal heat indices, and the anxiety and trauma we experience alongside them--have been seen to adversely affect our health. It isn't strange then that this is also seen to affect our sleep. Diminished sleep and sleep interruption are the most common changes we see with climate change, especially for the elderly and vulnerable populations.

In other words, if the community is vulnerable to flooding, or extreme weather changes, of course we won't be able to sleep well!

The question then is, what can we do about it? We can change our lifestyles, sure, but without policy changes, without any consideration to our communities, without a clear indication on where our taxes are going... we will always be vulnerable to mother nature. Don't we deserve better? We do, right?

It will take time and a lot of effort though. So as you think about what you can do for your community, I will be here to at least help you with your brain and your sleep :D

The national average stands at 5 doctors per 10,000 population, with 12 regions falling below this average. BARMM has an even lower rate at 0.4 doctors per 10,000 population.
