More than 20 years ago, 𝐄𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐦𝐚𝐧 challenged the myth that ADHD was only a boys’ condition. "𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐃𝐇𝐃,"co-authored with 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐚 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐊𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐍𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐮, she gave voice to girls and women who had long been overlooked.

𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐠𝐢𝐫𝐥𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐀𝐃𝐇𝐃 𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧’𝐭 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐫𝐮𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞. they were called “too quiet,” “too emotional,” or “not trying hard enough.” Behind the labels were struggles with focus, organization, confidence, and self-worth.

Today, we know better. ADHD affects women just as meaningfully. 𝐈𝐭 𝐬𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐥𝐲.

𝐓𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐱𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 is a common type of 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐱𝐢𝐞𝐭𝐲 that can make exams feel overwhelming. It may cause stress, fear, racing thoughts, or even physical symptoms before or during a test—whether it’s for school, board exams, or job applications.
