Our treats are not the usual desserts that are loaded with sugar and high in calorie.
For those who have a sweet tooth, they may not be that sweet compared to the usual desserts that we are familiar with, but they are loaded with healthy ingredients such as:
OATS-loaded with dietary fiber (containing more than many other grains) and have a range of healthy cholesterol-lowering properties.
BREWER’S YEAST-can provide energy and may help maintain healthy skin, hair, eyes, and mouth. It may be effective at supporting the nervous system and enhancing the immune system.
FLAXSEED-some call it one of the most powerful plant foods on the planet. There’s some evidence it may help reduce your risk of heart disease, cancer, stroke, and diabetes. That’s quite a tall order for a tiny seed that’s been around for centuries.
MALUNGGAY POWDER/MALUNGGAY FLAKES-moringa is an important food source in some parts of the world. Because it can be grown cheaply and easily, and the leaves retain lots of vitamins and minerals when dried, moringa is used in India and Africa in feeding programs to fight malnutrition.
CHIA SEEDS-they are an excellent source of omega-3 fatty acids, rich in antioxidants, and they provide fiber, iron, and calcium.
ASH*TABA-used for “heartburn”(gastroesophageal reflux disease, GERD), stomach ulcers, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, gout, constipation, and hay fever. It is also used for cancer, smallpox, fluid retention, blood clots, and food poisoning. Women use it to increase the flow of breast milk.
GOTU KOLA-pegged as the “herb of longevity,” gotu kola is a staple in traditional Chinese, Indonesian, and Ayurvedic medicine. Practitioners claim the medicinal plant has the power to boost brainpower, heal skin issues, and promote liver and kidney health.
These are just snippets of information about the ingredients we used. You can research more about them online. ☺️
