Since the COVID-19 outbreak began, people across the country have taken steps to stay safe. And until the virus is under control and there’s a vaccine to protect everyone from getting it, it’s important to keep taking those precautions.

Remember that the virus spreads mainly from person to person, especially if you’re within six feet of one another. Also remember that you can have — and spread — the virus even if you don’t have symptoms.

These are the ways that we need to follow in order to prevent Covid-19 from spreading:

•Maintain a safe distance from others (at least 1 metre), even if they don’t appear to be sick.
•Wear a mask in public, especially indoors or when physical distancing is not possible.
•Choose open, well-ventilated spaces over closed ones. Open a window if indoors.
•Clean your hands often. Use soap and water, or an alcohol-based hand rub.
•Get vaccinated when it’s your turn. Follow local guidance about vaccination.
•Cover your nose and mouth with your bent elbow or a tissue when you cough or sneeze.
•Stay home if you feel unwell.
