Early intervention is the key! When we tell parents "Lalaki kasi kaya late magsalita" or "Don't worry ganyan rin anak ko, nakapagsalita naman" or anything that makes them question if they are right to ve concerned, we may be preventing the child access to important early intervention strategies that could help prevent more serious delays later on.

Assessment is essential. Even if you think there's nothing wrong, there is no harm in seeking testing and consultation. If there's nothing wrong, then there's nothing wrong. If there is, then we can take action immediately.

Speech experts advise avoiding phrases like “don’t worry” when parents raise concerns about developmental delays—listen and respond with care instead.

Here, we trained as incoming speech therapists, occupational therapists, and physical therapists. Some of our core college memories were formed in the corners of CTS. We laughed, we cried, we learned, and we became skilled allied health professionals because of our mentors and, more importantly, because of the patients we were able to handle.

Not just in regulation, but in communication as well. All the skills we teach our kids, we should also model it to them. They must see in us the skills we are expecting from them.

It’s so easy to say “calm down” in the heat of the moment.

But the truth is, calm is not something children magically know how to do. It’s something they learn, slowly, through us.

Their brains are still developing. When big emotions hit, their nervous system takes over and thinking goes offline. What helps most is not louder words or bigger consequences, but a steady presence. A soft voice. A parent who stays.

Over time, our calm becomes their calm. Our guidance becomes their skill.

That is how regulation is built. đź©·

Autism doesn’t define a child — it’s simply a part of who they are. They may process the world differently, but they feel, love, and dream just like everyone else. Understanding their world helps us connect with their hearts. 💛

Stuttering isn’t a sign of weakness — it’s a speech pattern that deserves understanding, not pressure. Support your child by listening patiently, giving them time, and celebrating their effort, not just their fluency.🫂
