I was asked again for the gazillionth time in the last seven years... Why Young Living? Why not A, B, or C company? Why not the grocery store or the big box store selling them in town?
❓❓The answer is complex and often misunderstood by newbies learning about essential oils.
❓❓The answer could mean the difference between health and wellness and doing more harm than good.
❓❓The answer could mean you save money, but pay for nothing more than synthetic fragrances.
❓❓The answer could mean you spend slightly more, but experience true essential oils.
Depends on how much you research and understand the answer.
😵😵Common "essential oils" in the USA:
Synthetic. Chemically derived.
Mass produced in a lab.
Unknown origins. Unknown risks.
Hazard to health. Hazard to environment.
Known neurotoxins and carcinogens in ingredients.
Not truly essential oils at all. Copycats of the real deal.
😟😟Higher "quality" essential oils in the USA:
Most often, contains synthetic ingredients.
Mass produced from imported "essential oils"
May contain conventional farm oils with pesticides.

Unknown origins. Unknown risks.
May be hazardous to health and environment.
May contain neurotoxins and carcinogens.
Not truly essential oils at all. Copycats of the real deal.

Are they more expensive? Yep. But you get what you pay for on this one. Pure essential oils that are so beautifully crafted from nature that everything present in the plant can be found in the oil. So concentrated that a drop is equal to a teaspoon or tablespoon of its living counterpart. Grown in beyond organic conditions, harvested at the peak of its lifecycle, and distilled for the full length of time needed to extract light, medium, and heavy notes -- ALL COMPOUNDS.
To find this type of company, most look to Europe where essential oils have been farmed, distilled, and researched for centuries. We simply don't see this quality mainstream in the USA where profit over purpose and quantity over quality are the norm -- where regulations just don't exist that monitor ingredients for true safety, honesty, or integrity.
Seven years ago, after researching everything I could on essential oils and the companies selling them, I could only choose Young Living.
I'll admit. At first, I was turned off because they are an MLM home-based business. But then I readjusted my thinking. Products in the store have a 200-400% mark up. You're paying corporate America CEOs and giants of business so they can influence laws, gobble up more mom and pop shops, and continue to provide inferior products at exorbitant prices.
Isn't it time we start supporting our friends and families everywhere by purchasing from the local economy? When we do this, we're helping a mom or dad pay for their son or daughter's dance lessons and activities, a family pay bills, education costs, or finally take that vacation they've been dreaming of forever. We're helping each other as a community when we purchase a quality product with integrity and purpose.
Do yourself a favor. Research. Ask questions. If you want to join me, come on over and play with all the oils, ask all the questions, and see for yourself. :)
