Anong color ng kanin mo?

New research suggests colored may not always prevent blood sugar spikes as effectively as we previously thought ๐Ÿ‘€

Although alam natin na brown, red, and purple rice generally contain more fiber and B vitamins, pero hindi na sila necessarily nakakapag-manage ng blood sugar.

Ang pwede nating gawin sa rice ay i-chill, then reheat, by then ginagawa nating resistant starch yung rice and mas namamanage nito ang blood sugar spikes ๐Ÿ˜‰

So yes, nutritious pa rin ang colored rice, but hindi na โ€œbrown = automatically low glycemic indexโ€

โ€‹Who says health promotion has to be just lectures? Today was all about action at B.I.AG Farm!
โ€‹
Weโ€™re not just talking about nutritionโ€”weโ€™re building it. Today, 10 families from Bobok-Bisal and Daklan leveled up from "backyard raising" to poultry production!

โ€‹The mission? The goal? Protein on the plate, not just pesos in the pocket.

โ€‹With 90 layering hens now in their new homes, weโ€™re fighting stunting and boosting health, one fresh egg at a time.

Huge thanks to Mr. Jarrish Wales for being our resource speaker and B.I.AG Farm for the venue.

PMOS/PCOS and Nutrition Management

Hormonal imbalance is not managed by medication aloneโ€”nutrition plays an important role in improving symptoms of PMOS/PCOS.

Proper food choices can help regulate blood sugar levels, manage weight, improve insulin sensitivity, and support hormonal balance.

โœ… Choose whole and nutritious foods:
โ€ข High-fiber foods such as vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and legumes
โ€ข Lean protein sources like fish, chicken, eggs, tofu, and beans
โ€ข Healthy fats from nuts, seeds, avocado, and olive oil

โŒ Limit foods that may worsen symptoms:
โ€ข Sugary drinks and desserts
โ€ข Processed foods and fast food
โ€ข Excess refined carbohydrates such as white bread, pastries, and instant noodles

๐Ÿ’ง Healthy habits matter too:
โ€ข Stay physically active
โ€ข Drink enough water
โ€ข Get enough sleep and manage stress

PMOS/PCOS is a long-term condition, but with proper nutrition, lifestyle modification, and regular medical consultation, symptoms can be better managed and quality of life can improve.

Your plate can influence your hormonesโ€”choose foods that nourish, not just satisfy.

In line with the growing concern over overweight and obesity in the country, the National Nutrition Council (NNC), through Governing Board Resolution No. 4, Series of 2018, approved and adopted its official policy statement on fad diets.
The NNC emphasizes that fad diets are not recommended for weight loss because they may pose potential health risks and dangers. While many fad diets promise rapid weight reduction, these approaches are often restrictive, unsustainable, and may fail to provide the body with adequate nutrients needed for overall health.
Instead of relying on short-term and often extreme dietary practices, the NNC advocates for a holistic, sustainable, adequate, and nutritionally balanced diet. This should be complemented by an active lifestyle and lifelong behavioral modifications that support long-term health and well-being.
The NNC further stresses that addressing overweight and obesity should not rest solely on individual efforts. Personal commitment to healthier eating and regular physical activity must be supported by population-based interventions. These include promoting healthier food environments and food systems, as well as strengthening public awareness through behavior-change communication strategies.
Through this policy, the NNC highlights that the prevention of overweight and obesity requires both individual responsibility and collective action. Sustainable health outcomes can be achieved not through quick fixes, but through informed choices, supportive environments, and long-term healthy habits.
