The 3rd year of Vet Mission Boracay has ended and what a success! We treated 1265 animals in totalππΌπΎβ£οΈl!
Our heartfelt thank you to each one of you involved in this year's vet mission. The amazing work of all our veterinarians and vet assistants coming from Malay, Aklan, Iloilo, Negros and Manila. A special thank you also to the Boracay and Malay Dog catchers team, island mission volunteers and our sponsors. Thank you to each of you for 4 days of hard work. 15 stations around Boracay and 1 in Malay, despite loads of heavy rain and luckily at the end a little sunshine, surgeryβs continued and we are so grateful for the achievements we accomplished this year. We hope that by doing this, it can inspire our island community to help spread the word that by spaying and castrating our animals they become calmer and happier to stay at home. By controlling our stray animal population we will create a more healthy and happy animal environment for Islanders and even tourists to enjoy.πΎ
The 2024 Boracay Vet Mission was able to achieve the following:
Spaying of 274 dogs and cats
Castration of 279 dogs and cats
Rabies vaccination for 405 dogs and cats
Deworming of 305 dogs and cats
Emergency cyst surgeries for 2 animals.

A special thank you to DR. DEYVEN N. ORIONDO, LGU Malay Agricultureβs Office representative, and DR. MA. CYROSA LEEN MABEL C. SINΜEL, from the Office of the Provincial Veterinarian-Kalibo, for bringing together the teams of all these veterinarian surgeons. We had the honor to be joined this year by the President of the Philippine Veterinary Medical Association [PVMA], Mr Harris G. Constantino and members from Philippine Veterinary Medical Association - Western Visayas Chapter, Philippine Animal Hospital Association, Vets Love Nature and Coast Guard Veterinary Unit - Western Visayas. Returning from previous years Iloilo City - Office of the City Veterinarian, MorProgress Iloilo, Provincial Veterinarian-Kalibo and Municipal Agriculturist Office- Malay. A total of 71 veterinarian and vet assistants joined us.
Your efforts will have a large impact on decreasing the number of stray animals on our streets and helps keep Boracay Island rabies free.
Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for what you have all done to make this possible! It was amazing to see the process work so smoothly and the long hours and effort put in by all surgeons and assistants. You guys are amazing! And all this could not have been successful without the support of our island community who has sponsored rooms, food, drinks and donated money. πΎβ€οΈ πΎ
