"I am a wellness in progress."
This statement acknowledges that while I may not be at 100% right now, I am on my way. Wellness is a journey, not a destination, and every step forward is progress.
To help achieve that 100%, the School Health and Nutrition Unit (SHNU) of DepEd Eastern Samar recently conducted Health and Wellness Activities for Division Office personnel. These activities highlighted the OK sa DepEd 6 flagship programs: Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene in Schools (WinS); Medical and Dental Nursing Services (MDNS); Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH); School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP); National Drug Education Program (NDEP); and School Mental Health Program (SMHP).
This milestone would not have been possible without the SHNU personnel, who poured their hearts into making this event a success. Despite working with limited resources and budget, your unwavering dedication, creativity, and teamwork turned challenges into opportunities. Your passion and commitment proved that when we work together with purpose, we can achieve great things.
You went above and beyond to ensure every detail was covered, every participant felt valued, and every goal was met. Thank you for your tireless efforts, for believing in the importance of this mission, and for showing that even with constraints, excellence can be achieved when driven by heart and determination.
This endeavor was also made possible through our strong partnership with the Provincial Government of Eastern Samar, led by Governor Ben Evardone. Special thanks to the Governor for allowing us to use the gymnasium as our venue, and to his dedicated team: Sir Nelson Cortez, through Ma'am Monel and Ma'am Tine, who ensured we had a sound system for the event; Sir Ruiz Cadiz, who provided tables and chairs; and Dr. Marian Isiderio, through Sir Mark Rodriguez and Ma'am Meghaan Villanueva of the Provincial Health Office (PHO), who facilitated the provision of pneumococcal vaccines, condoms, pills, and HIV testing. Your collective efforts underscore the power of collaboration in achieving meaningful results.
And to the participants who embraced this journey with us—thank you for your energy, enthusiasm, and commitment. Your engagement makes all the hard work worthwhile and reminds us why we do what we do.
Together, we have shown that wellness is not just an individual journey but a shared endeavor—one we continue to walk together, step by step, toward a healthier and brighter future.
