BREAKING: ILOILO CITY RECORDS 1 CONFIRMED CASE OF MPOX AS OF MAY 27, 2025.

The City Health Office (CHO) confirmed the first case of Mpox in Iloilo City during a press conference held this morning, May 28, 2025.

According to CHO Head Dr. Mary Ann Diaz, the patient has no recent travel history. The individual is currently in stable condition and under isolation.

In addition to the confirmed case, four suspected cases are also being closely monitored by local health authorities.

All individuals are in isolation, and contact tracing efforts are underway to help prevent further transmission.

The CHO is urging the public to remain vigilant and practice good hygiene, avoid crowded places, and seek early medical consultation if they notice unusual rashes or symptoms. | via Mai Ladiao/PN
