What do i mean when i say RENAL DIET?..It basically means LOWer volumes of 3 important but deleterious (in excess) substances: Salt, Protein, & Phosphorus.
You can achieve this in just 2 doable ways:
1. Avoid processed foods, fast and slow foods (all high in salt & phosphorus) - therefore HOME-COOKED meal is best! Where u can control the amount of salt and protein quality incorporated in it.
2. Opt for PLANT-based source of protein. They have high biologic value and produce lower uremic toxins than animal sources (meat&dairy). Examples are: Tofu, Soy milk, Beans, Nuts, Oats, Brown rice, and protein-rich fruits & veggies (mushrooms, broccoli, spinach, sweet potato, guava, bananas - to name a few)
..If you are not used to this kind of diet, better start trying, have enough discipline as benefits are huge (as ive seen it in my responsible-enough patients): it lowers antihypertensive requirements, delays onset of dialysis, prolongs residual renal function when already on dialysis, improves quality of life and even improves overall prognosis.
Hence i cant emphasize these enough!❤️
