A reminder that conviction isnโt always loud.
Sometimes, it simply remembers.

A wife. A mom.
An ordinary citizen.
Just someone who lives here, walks these streets, and raises a child in this city.
And I have something to say about what just happened.
Rodrigo Duterte.
Detained in The Hague.
But just ๐๐ผ๐ป ๐ฎ๐ ๐ ๐ฎ๐๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ผ ๐๐ถ๐๐.
๐๐ ๐ฎ ๐น๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ๐๐น๐ถ๐ฑ๐ฒ.
Vice mayor? His son.
Congressmen in all 3 districts? Allies.
City council? Swept.
Every. Single. Seat.
How did that happen?
Simple.
Here in Davao?
We call it ๐ฐ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ถ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป.
You can be pro-Duterte.
You can be anti-Duterte.
Thatโs democracy.
But ๐ฌ๐๐๐ฉ ๐ฎ๐ค๐ช ๐๐๐ฃโ๐ฉ ๐๐ค is erase what the man did for this cityโฆ and for this country.
We didnโt vote because of nostalgia.
We voted because we ๐ณ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฃ๐ฆ๐ณ.
We remember what Davao ๐ถ๐ด๐ฆ๐ฅ ๐ต๐ฐ ๐ฃ๐ฆ.
And what it ๐ฃ๐ฆ๐ค๐ข๐ฎ๐ฆ.
From nightly gunshots to peaceful sidewalks.
From fear to order.
From chaos to structure.
Weโve seen what ๐ฑ๐ถ๐๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฝ๐น๐ถ๐ป๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐๐ต ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ฐ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป looks like.
And no amount of headlines can cancel our ๐ก๐๐ซ๐๐ ๐๐ญ๐ฅ๐๐ง๐๐๐ฃ๐๐.
This isnโt blind loyalty.
Itโs clear-eyed acknowledgment.
Of results. Of real work.
Of a leadership style thatโs as firm as it is controversialโฆ
Firm. Flawed. Fierce.
Some call it dangerous.
We call it Davaoโs backbone.
Never bought.
Never for sale.
So yes, heโs behind bars.
But even from The Hague, his leadership still echoed through the ballots.
We didnโt vote for a name.
We voted for the kind of governance that ๐ด๐ต๐ฐ๐ฐ๐ฅ ๐ธ๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ฏ ๐ฐ๐ต๐ฉ๐ฆ๐ณ๐ด ๐ฃ๐ฐ๐ธ๐ฆ๐ฅ.
To outsiders, this might look like fanaticism.
But to us?
Itโs gratitude.
Itโs memory.
Itโs belief in the kind of leadership that didnโt just talkโฆ it delivered.
And maybeโฆ a bit of stubborn hope.
Because once youโve seen what strong, consistent leadership can build, youโll never settle for less.
