The launching of “PuroKalusugan” is the newest primary care services of the Department of Health. The kick off was held in Brgy. Nongnong today November 8, 2024. It was indeed a significant event that brought together key health officials and stakeholders to provide comprehensive health services to the community. The program aimed to offer a range of essential health services to the Purok. This launching is first in the City of Butuan, specifically at one of the Geographically Isolated Demographic Area of Libertad District, Barangay Nongnong. It was spear headed by DOH Regional Director Dr. Cesar C. Cassion, City Councilor on Health Dr. Eduardo Gonzales, Medical Officer IV & LHSD-HSST Coordinator Dr. Agnes L. Cullantes, City Health Department Head Dr. Hendry Plaza, Assistant City Health Officer Dr. Teresita Helen V. Makiling, Dr. Deandra Pahate of Ampayon District, Dr. Roshe Opiano of Bilay District, DMO IV for Butuan City Ms. Emmi Marie Cabahug, RN,MMPSM, DMO II Mr. Adrian Kin P***n, RN and supported by LGUs, DOH HRH of different districts, and Brgy Council of Brgy Nongnong led by Punong Barangay Hon. Wilfredo Membrillos.
The services included are Immunization for children and adults, Prenatal care for expectant mothers, Medical consultations for various health concerns, Visual Inspection using Acetic Acid among women of reproductive age, Dental check-up and tooth extraction, Tuberculosis prevention and control thru sputum collection and chest x-ray, HIV & Glucose testing, Non-communicable disease prevention and control, Environmental Health Sanitation Program and Nutrition Education to promote healthy eating habits. The collaboration of these health professionals and organizations ensured that the residents of Brgy. Nongnong received the necessary care and support to improve their overall health and well-being.
This Kick-Off Activity of PuroKalusugan in Brgy. Nongnong demonstrated the commitment of the government and healthcare providers to prioritize the health needs of the community and work together to address them effectively. It set a positive example for other barangays to follow and highlighted the importance of collaboration and cooperation in delivering quality healthcare services to all and in achieving the goal of this activity "Bawat Pilipino ramdam ang kalusugan, Dahil sa Bagong Pilipinas, Bawat Buhay Mahalaga."
