CENTER FOR NUCLEAR MEDICINE SOON TO OPEN AT THE BUTUAN DOCTORS' HOSPITAL

We are pleased to announce that Butuan Doctors' Hospital had formally signed a supply contract for a Complete Nuclear Medicine Center Set-up. We hope to finish this project within the year. This new modern facility will bring in advanced technology with cutting-edge equipments and expand healthcare services including SPECT-Scan Imaging, Bone Density Scan (DEXA), Radioimmunoassay (RIA) and Radioactive Iodine Therapy.

A more comprehensive evaluation and treatment shall soon be made possible for various medical conditions affecting the cardiovascular, endocrine, gastrointestinal and central nervous systems.

The BDH Center for Nuclear Medicine extends well beyond upgrading our diagnostic and treatment capabilities, we remain steadfast in our commitment to deliver modern, high-quality healthcare for Butuan City and the Caraga Region—all without the need to travel far.

Last June 27, the Butuan Doctors’ Hospital, and the BDH Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Unit along with the Philippine Academy of Rehabilitation Medicine joined the Scoliosis Awareness Month celebration. This spine-curving condition affects more girls than boys, and it often manifests itself during late childhood or early adolescence. Early detection is crucial. To aid this, The campaign is launched; it is a simple yet effective method to spot scoliosis early, enabling timely medical intervention that can prevent the progression of spinal deformities and mitigating potential complications, such as chronic pain and respiratory issues, thus improving the overall quality of life for those affected.

In celebration of the National Kidney Month, The Nephrology Section of the Butuan Doctors Hospital recently held a seminar with Barangay Health Workers in Butuan City. The said seminar focused on raising awareness about kidney health, kidney disease, and the linkage between leptospirosis and kidney problems.

National Kidney Month encourages proactive measures to protect kidney health, such as avoiding contaminated water sources and seeking early medical attention if exposed to leptospirosis.
