The National Nutrition Council, in partnership with Organic Intelligence Consulting Inc., successfully conducted a 2-day Nutrition Management Information System (NMIS) Training for the Caraga Region at Amarah Hotel, Butuan City.
The training was facilitated by Aubrey D. Manalo, RND (Nutrition Officer II), and Marc Daniel S. Torzar (Information Systems Analyst I) of the National Nutrition Council along with Ms. Nancy Samonte and Ms. Nicole Thinne Torres of Organic Intelligence Consulting Inc.
It was attended by the National Nutrition Council Caraga team, led by NO III Leah Vina P. Vargas, RN, LPT, MN, together with NO II Mae C. Ramoco, RND, and PDO I Jemarey I. Asube, RND. Also present were Provincial, City, and Municipal Nutrition Action Officers, District/City/Municipal Nutrition Program Coordinators, and nutrition staff from selected local government units (LGUs) across the region.
Day 1 focused on providing an overview of the training and the NMIS platform. Facilitators guided participants through key features of the system while addressing questions and clarifications. Participants were then grouped into pairsโcomposed of an officer and a staff memberโand engaged in hands-on exercises. The staff members were the first to navigate the system, gaining practical experience in logging in, exploring the interface, and encoding data into the platform.
On Day 2, the training continued with officers taking on the hands-on tasks, allowing them to become familiar with system operations and data entry processes. The sessions concluded with a return demonstration, where participants showcased their understanding and application of the NMIS modules.
This training marks a significant step in strengthening nutrition data management and reporting capabilities across the Caraga Region.
