History: St. John General Hospital was founded in 1957 by Dr. Juan C. Vergara in Malangas, Zamboanga del Sur with business name JCVergara Clinic. The clinic was moved to Buug, a barrio of Malangas, this barrio later became a municipality. The business name was changed to St. John General Hospital in 1962. Laboratory Services and X-Ray Imaging were added in 1964. Vision: The St. envision itself to

become a referral center for quality patient care and ultimately, the hospital of choice in terms of affordable quality care for the areas of Zamboanga Peninsula between Pagadian City and Zamboanga City. Goal: Continuous, systematic improvement of facilities and health services compliant with statutory requirements, staff selection and facilities.
