NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC

CHED Statement on Bomb Threats and Deliberate Disruptions in Higher Education Institutions

The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) strongly condemns the recent bomb threats targeting higher education institutions (HEIs) which have forced class cancellations and severely disrupted campus operations. These threats involve conveying or disseminating false information or willfully making claims about the alleged presence of bombs, explosives, incendiary devices, or other destructive means in buildings, tenements, and other areas. Such acts will not be tolerated.

Colleges and universities must remain safe spaces for learning. Any attempt to spread fear, provoke disorder, or destabilize academic institutions is a serious intrusion on academic freedom and undermines institutions entrusted with advancing education and national development.

Under P.D. No. 1727 in connection with R.A. 11479 and the Revised Philippine National Police (PNP) Operational Procedures, all threats are treated as serious until proven otherwise. CHED directs HEIs to coordinate closely with law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety and security of campuses and to monitor any reports of coordinated attempts to destabilize academic institutions.

CHED reminds the public that although individuals retain the right to voice concerns and express their views, such right be exercised responsibly and within the bounds of the law. CHED strongly urges students, faculty, and school officials to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious activities to authorities.

Those responsible for bomb threats or for spreading false information to incite panic or fear will face full accountability, and CHED will actively support the prosecution of offenders to ensure they are brought before the proper authorities. We strongly appeal not to subject our education institutions to acts that sow fear or disruption. As pillars of national development, they must remain safe and steadfast havens for learning, innovation, and the advancement of our communities.

CHED reiterates that the safety of our students, faculty, and personnel is non-negotiable, and CHED will take decisive action to safeguard both the safety and integrity of our higher education institutions.

Driven by compassion and unity, the student organizations of Good Samaritan Colleges spearheaded a donation drive to extend help to the five families affected by the recent fire in Barangay Andal Aliño, Talavera, Nueva Ecija.

The collected monetary donations, goods, and clothing were turned over on November 3, 2025, through the Office of Student Affairs and the Extension Services Unit of the Office of the Vice President for Academic Affairs, with the support of Hon. Benjamin Tiangco, Barangay Captain of Andal Aliño.

This act of generosity reflects the true Samaritano spirit — students serving beyond the campus, with hearts that care and hands that give.
