~1000 prosthetic devices just last year

In 2011, there were 41,551 households affected by an orthopedic disability in the Philippines. In 2024, we expect around 100,000 additional amputees because of complications of diabetes, peripheral arterial disease and motor vehicle trauma. The impact on the individual and their family is immeasurable: loss of livelihood and difficulty reintegrating and getting work, mental health concerns, etc.

In MediWalk, we believe that access to a quality prosthetic device should be made readily available. Devices that replace a lost limb brings back function, utility and dignity to many persons suffering from limb loss.

Tandaan na ang mga hakbang na ito ay hindi lamang nakakatulong sa pag-iwas sa pagsakit sa puso kundi makakatulong din sa pangkalahatang kalusugan. Mahalaga ang pangangalaga sa sarili at ang regular na pagsusuri sa doktor para mapanatili ang isang malusog na puso! ☺️💙
