RTMDH Holds Medical/Surgical/Dental Mission at BJMP Male Dorm, Brgy. Nanga, Pototan

The Ramon Tabiana Memorial District Hospital successfully carried out a Medical/Surgical/Dental Mission for Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology Male Dorm located in Brgy. Nanga, Pototan on May 22, 2026.

Over the years, the BJMP Male Dorm in Brgy. Nanga has remained a valued partner of the hospital in promoting health and wellness initiatives for the community.

As part of the outreach activity, the hospital was able to provide the following services:

Medical Consultations – 72 beneficiaries
Dental Services – 28 beneficiaries
Surgical Procedures – 16 beneficiaries

The team likewise offered free blood sugar screening and conducted informative discussions on HIV awareness, Diabetes prevention and management, and Infection Prevention and Control, as well as the distribution of free medicines for the beneficiaries.

The hospital also expresses its sincere appreciation to the International College of Surgeons Panay Chapter and Pharmworld Pharmaceutical Incorporated for their continued support and collaboration in the success of this outreach program.

Through initiatives such as this, RTMDH remains committed to bringing accessible, quality, and compassionate healthcare services to all sectors of society.

Last May 6, 2026, RTMDH successfully conducted the Health Care Waste Management Education and Housekeeping Training at the RTMDH Conference Room, gathering personnel in a meaningful learning activity dedicated to promoting a greener, safer, and healthier healthcare environment.

The training equipped participants with valuable knowledge and practical skills in proper healthcare waste handling, infection prevention and control, occupational health and safety procedures, and maintaining high standards of patient service.

The activity was graced by the expertise of 𝐌𝐀 𝐉𝐀𝐍𝐄 𝐏. 𝐕𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐔𝐄𝐕𝐀, 𝐌𝐈𝐋𝐄, 𝐌𝐏𝐇, 𝐋𝐏𝐓, 𝐑𝐍 as the resource speaker, who shared essential insights and best practices in healthcare waste management and housekeeping.

Ramon Tabiana Memorial District Hospital (RTMDH) continues to uphold excellence in healthcare delivery as several monitoring and evaluation activities were recently conducted in the institution, highlighting its commitment to quality service, patient safety, and public health programs.

Last April 21, 2026, RTMDH Blood Station underwent a Certificate of Inclusion Monitoring conducted by the Philippine Red Cross Western Visayas Regional Blood Center. The activity aimed to ensure compliance with standards in blood service operations and reinforce safe and reliable healthcare practices within the hospital.

Meanwhile, the Hospital Epidemiological Surveillance Team earned recognition for its commendable performance during the Pan-Respiratory Disease Surveillance Monitoring conducted by the Department of Health Regional Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (DOH RESU). Special commendation was given to Disease Surveillance Nurse Ma’am Mary Jane Novillas-Casas for the team’s consistency and dedication in daily monitoring and surveillance reporting.

In line with strengthening patient assistance programs, the DOH Western Visayas Center for Health Development (DOH WV CHD) Malasakit Program Unit also conducted a Monitoring and Evaluation Activity at RTMDH. The initiative supports the Department of Health’s commitment to the effective implementation of the Medical Assistance to Indigent and Financially Incapacitated Patients (MAIFIP) Program, ensuring that healthcare assistance reaches deserving patients efficiently and compassionately.

These initiatives reflect RTMDH’s unwavering dedication to improving healthcare services, enhancing disease surveillance efforts, and promoting patient-centered care for the community.
