During the recent monitoring conducted by the Department of Health (DOH), Midwife Lilian Amistoso achieved a perfect score while performing counseling and Visual Inspection with Acetic Acid (VIA). Her dedication, skill, and compassion truly shine through in her service to our community. 🌟

🩺 VIA is a simple, quick, and effective method to detect early signs of cervical cancer. It only takes a few minutes—but it could save your life. Early detection is key, and prevention is always better than cure.

💬 We encourage all women, especially those aged 25 to 55, to take advantage of this free screening. Protect your health, empower yourself, and spread the word to your loved ones.

The Nutrition Month Culmination has been successfully celebrated!

We would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who joined and supported our Culmination Activity held at the Cabucgayan Gymnasium.

Special thanks to our Municipal Mayor, Hon. Gemma Garcia Adobo, for her continuous support and dedication to our Nutrition Month Celebration.

We also extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Nutrition Committee, especially:

Our sincere thanks to our distinguished guests from the Department of Health – Sir Carl Ramirez, DMO IV, and from the Provincial Health Office – Sir Rio Rosales, PHO Nutrition Coordinator and Ma'am Shiela Jamora, RN.

To our Barangay Officials, Barangay Health Workers (BHWs), and Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNSs) who took the time to attend, thank you for your presence and continued support.

A heartfelt thank you as well to TESDA-CNSAT for conducting the Cooking Demonstration and Feeding Program for malnourished children.

We would also like to acknowledge the Local Civil Registry for offering free issuance of live birth certificates to malnourished children and lactating mothers.

🍴 Kumain ng Go, Grow, at Glow foods
🏃‍♀️ Kumilos araw-araw — 30 minuto para sa matatanda, 1 oras para sa kabataan
🤱 Inay, magpasuso nang eksklusibo sa unang 6 na buwan
👶 Sa ika-6 na buwan ni baby, simulan ang complementary feeding ng masustansyang pagkain habang nagpapatuloy ang pagpapasuso
🌱 Magtanim ng gulay at prutas sa bakuran para may sariling mapagkukunan ng masustansyang pagkain

"Gupit Lupit: Beauty and Wellness Day - Promoting Mental Health and Wellbeing

On October 18, 2024, HRH Cabucgayan and RHU staff headed by Dr. Julieta C. Tan hosted a unique community event, Gupit Lupit: Beauty and Wellness Day, focusing on mental health awareness and holistic wellbeing. This uplifting initiative offered:

- Free haircuts, boosting confidence and self-esteem
- Confidential mental health consultations with Dr. Priscillana Lee Lanante Gilboy
- Medications and resources for mental health support
- Free dental kits for oral health
- Nutritious food packs for sustenance

Over 100 participants benefited from this comprehensive event, fostering a sense of community and inclusivity. Volunteers and BHW Magbangon, including DOH-EVCHD Health Promo, Biliran Provincial Health Office , Biliran PDOHO, and LGU Cabucgayan thru our very supportive Mayor Gemma Garcia Adobo , worked together to make this day truly special.

Through Gupit Lupit, we aimed to:

Reduce stigma around mental health
Provide accessible support services
Promote overall wellbeing

Kasunod ng pinaigting na surveillance dahil sa deklarasyon ng World Health Organization sa mpox (dating monkeypox) bilang isang Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC), nakapagtala ang DOH ng isang bagong kaso ng mpox sa Pilipinas. Bago ito, ang huling kaso ay naiulat noong Disyembre 2023. Ang lahat ng mga naunang kaso ay na-isolate, naagapan, at gumaling na sa sakit.
Mula sa Kagawaran ng Kalusugan (DOH) protektahan ang sarili at ang ang buong pamilya laban sa sakit at maling impormasyon. Maging handa sa banta ng mpox - sundin at tignan ang ilang Health Reminders sa mga larawan.
