The Northern Mindanao Medical Center Department of Ophthalmology, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Cagayan de Oro Premier, hosted an Ophthalmology Screening Program for Barangay Health Workers entitled “BOOST: Barangay Health Workers Onsite Ophthalmologic Screening Training Program.” This was held at Barangay Bonbon, Cagayan de Oro City, and Opol, Misamis Oriental last August 16 and 29, 2025 respectively.

This program is a sequel to last year’s Ophthalmology Screening Program held at Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon, and is part of NMMC Ophtha’s commitment to improving eye care and vision health one community at a time.

Another successful eye tissue retrieval. We sincerely thank the donor and family for their support. Special thanks to NMMC Kidney Transplant Unit for their cooperation and assistance regarding the logistics of the tissue harvest. In partnership with the Sta. Lucia International Eye Bank of Manila.
