JRBGH Gender and Development Orientation for New Employees

The JR Borja General Hospital (JRBGH) Gender and Development (GAD) Committee successfully conducted a Basic GAD Orientation as part of the new employees’ onboarding program.

The orientation aimed to:
1. Familiarize hospital staff with the basic concepts of Gender and Development.
2. Deepen understanding of how gender roles and biases impact healthcare delivery and workplace dynamics.
3. Ensure compliance with national mandates, including RA 9710 Magna Carta of Women, RA 11313 Safe Spaces Act, and the COA memorandum on s*x- and age-disaggregated data.
4. Strengthen inclusivity, respect, and equality in patient care and staff relations.

The session was conducted by Ms. Helengrace A. Uy, JRBGH GAD Focal Person, and concluded with a Pledge of Commitment where participants vowed to uphold gender responsiveness, fairness, and inclusivity in their service.

The Cagayan de Oro City Primary Care Center – Tablon has been officially inaugurated and blessed today at Purok 4, Brgy. Tablon. 🎗️💚

The ceremony was graced by Hon. Mayor Rolando “Klarex” A. Uy, City Councilors, Department Heads, DOH R10 Regional Director Sulpicio Henry M. Legaspi, Jr., Mr. Marlon Arabaca of PhilHealth, Punong Brgy., Romeo R. Bacarro, with Brgy. Tablon officials, CHO Consultant Dr. Fe C. Bongcas, JRBGH Acting Chief of Hospital Dr. Michael June C. Perez, and JRBGH Department Heads.

As it opens its doors, the new city-run hospital will initially offer primary care services to residents, especially in the eastern barangays, including: Outpatient Consultation, Pharmacy Services, Laboratory & Diagnostics, and Health Education & Preventive Care.

This facility is designed to bring accessible, affordable, and high-quality healthcare closer to the people, while also helping to decongest larger hospitals as more services and facilities are completed. 💙🙌

On August 15, 2025, our hospital family came together for a Tree Planting Activity at Macasandig Boulevard, Cagayan de Oro City — a meaningful step in promoting environmental stewardship and community wellness.

This initiative was more than just planting trees; it was about nurturing life, protecting our environment, and inspiring others to join us in safeguarding the planet for the generations to come. As healthcare providers, we recognize that the well-being of our community is deeply connected to the health of our environment.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to our kauban sa buhat from CLENRO CdeO for their hands-on and cooperative assistance, as well as for providing the seedlings that made this activity possible. 🌱🌳
