Borja General Hospital is a Level II hospital with a 250-bed capacity serving the people of Cagayan de Oro City and its neighboring cities in Northern Mindanao. The 100- bed JRBGH established in 1963 is the only local government hospital in Cagayan de Oro City catering to an estimated 687,427 population with the vision that “By the year 2016 JR Borja General Hospital shall be the nation’s premier

local government hospital with fiscal autonomy and preferential option for the poor and the underprivileged.”

To date, the city hospital has achieved an unprecedented success as a health care provider that were evident in their service deliveries - a success story worth replicating in all government run hospitals.

People’s Day & Flag Raising at Barangay Tignapoloan! 💚

Yesterday, the City Government once again brought its services closer to the people through the People’s Day and Flag Raising Ceremony held at Barangay Tignapoloan.

A total of 631 residents from Tignapoloan and neighboring barangays gathered at the covered court to avail of free consultations, assistance, and various government services.

Representatives from J.R. Borja General Hospital were also present, providing free medical consultations and health services to ensure that quality healthcare reaches even the most remote communities.

The energy was electric as we kicked off our month-long celebration under the powerful theme: “FOOD & NUTRITION SECURITY: Maging Priority! Sapat na Pagkain, Karapatan Natin!" Dr. Michael June C. Perez, our Chief of Hospital, ignited the mission with an inspiring ribbon-cutting ceremony and opening call-to-action while City Health Office RND Ms. April Monsanto delivered a stirring keynote speech, challenging us all to prioritize nutrition security now.

A powerful moment unfolded when Ms. Rose Antojado, JRBGH RND led a unified Oath of Commitment – our solemn promise to champion every citizen’s right to nutritious food! Dr. Keziah Huevos, Head of National Nutrition Month Celebration 2025, then unveiled exciting upcoming activities, while Dr. Sheila Mae Taal, Breastfeeding and Nutrition Chairperson, closed with a resonant reminder: “Nutrition isn’t a privilege – it’s a fundamental RIGHT."

Cagayan de Oro City joined the rest of the nation in commemorating the 127th Philippine Independence Day today, June 12, 2025, with a solemn and meaningful program held at the historic Kiosko Kagawasan in Divisoria Plaza.

Led by Vice Mayor Jocelyn “Bebot” Rodriguez and City Council Majority Floor Leader Councilor Edgar Cabanlas, representing Mayor Rolando ‘Klarex’ Uy, the celebration gathered local and national government officials, barangay leaders, civic groups, members of the Philippine Army 4th Infantry Division (4ID), the CDO City Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, and various private organizations.

With the theme “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan” (Freedom, Future, History), the city paid tribute to the heroism of Filipinos who fought against more than 300 years of Spanish colonization — a reminder of the sacrifices made for the freedoms enjoyed today. 💙❤️💛
