JRBGH Gender and Development Orientation for New Employees
The JR Borja General Hospital (JRBGH) Gender and Development (GAD) Committee successfully conducted a Basic GAD Orientation as part of the new employees’ onboarding program.
The orientation aimed to:
1. Familiarize hospital staff with the basic concepts of Gender and Development.
2. Deepen understanding of how gender roles and biases impact healthcare delivery and workplace dynamics.
3. Ensure compliance with national mandates, including RA 9710 Magna Carta of Women, RA 11313 Safe Spaces Act, and the COA memorandum on s*x- and age-disaggregated data.
4. Strengthen inclusivity, respect, and equality in patient care and staff relations.
The session was conducted by Ms. Helengrace A. Uy, JRBGH GAD Focal Person, and concluded with a Pledge of Commitment where participants vowed to uphold gender responsiveness, fairness, and inclusivity in their service.
