The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Jasaan, through its Municipal Health Office (MHO) and the PHO Mis. Or. - Dental Health Service , successfully hosted the Buntis Congress 2025, December 15, 2025, at the Brgy. Bobontugan Covered Court. The event is aimed to support the health and welfare of expectant mothers in the municipality.

The program began with attendance and opening remarks by Dra. Elijah C. Mateo, followed by a key support message from Brgy. Captain Hon. Jessica Emano.This led into the main health symposium, which featured resource speakers covering ORAL HEALTH, essential maternal and child health topics, including Prenatal/Postnatal Care, Family Planning, Exclusive Breastfeeding, and Newborn screening and Immunization. Our dental team also provided free check-up and Oral Prophylaxis (cleaning) to selected pregnant women.

This initiative is directly aligned with the Provincial Health Office of Misamis Oriental developmental thrust on "Kalusugan" (Health), successfully reinforcing the Provincial Government of Misamis Oriental's dedication to empowering expectant mothers with the necessary knowledge and services for a healthier community.

-To systematically evaluate the implementation of our program, our team held a Program Implementation Review and Strategic Planning at the conference room of the Provincial Health Office Building. The undertaking is necessary to review if goals and performance targets are being met as specified by the Department of Health (DOH). The activity also gave recognition to individuals who have contributed greatly to the program through their accomplishment. Every day, we use our mouths in countless ways, and a healthy mouth makes life more enjoyable.

To raise awareness about the importance of lifelong oral care, the Provincial Health Office of Misamis Oriental and PHO Mis. Or. - Dental Health Service have partnered with other stakeholders to empower communities through oral health education.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Xavier University College of Medicine and Lanao Elementary School of Alubijid for organizing todayโ€™s Oral Health Awareness Campaign.

Cosin Masonic Lodge #308 of the Free and Accepted Masons of the Philippines donated a 32-inch Smart TV and a mobile stand to the Oral Health Program of the Provincial Health Office of Misamis Oriental, to enhance health education, public awareness, and outreach activities across the province.

The inclusion of a mobile stand ensures that this device can be used not only at health facilities but also at various locations in the communities across Misamis Oriental.โ€

The equipment will allow for the display of educational materials, health messages, and awareness videos during community outreach and school visits โ€” promoting a stronger connection between oral health professionals and the public.

Bye-bye tooth decay: Municipality of Manticao joins the Provincial Health Office of Misamis Oriental thru our Oral Health Program. A program that cuts across all life cycle and also integrated in the โ€˜Garantisadong Pambata Program."

The oral health activity dub "Toothbrushing Drill 2025" aims to teach children, teachers and parents to develop healthy habits to keep their teeth healthy until old age.

This observance is dedicated to promote awareness about the importance of oral hygiene, encouraging preventive dental care, and fostering a culture of healthy smiles across the province.

We are also thankful that oral health is integrated in the Garantisadong Pambata Program because this is one aspect of overall wellness of a child that has been left out. Oral health is part of overall wellness and nutrition where it is impossible for a child to become totally healthy when the first line of defense which is oral health is problematic. If a child has an oral health problem, he or she cannot eat food which will be the source of nutrients.

This campaign aims to raise awareness among parents and caregivers on the importance of oral health, child nutrition, disease prevention, and regular supplementation, ensuring that every child in the community grows strong, healthy, and protected.
