Family Health Advocacy Home Partners (FHAHP) Classes

The Lower Balulang Health Center (LBHC) under the City Health Office and Barangay Balulang LGU conducted the first of many FHAHP Classes this year. The classes were held in Carinugan, Balulang on February 17 - 20, 2025 having participants from nearby sitios such as Carisna, Mabasa and Oro Zena.

The FHAHP classes are designed to raise public health awareness and encourage health-seeking behaviors from the community through health education. The classes were conducted by our nurses and some of our Barangay Health Workers (BHWs). The topics ranged from maternal health, family planning, communicable diseases and other common health issues. Participants attended a total of three days for the classes and received tokens of appreciation for their attendance.

During the opening of the classes, our very own Kap. Edwin Micabani encouraged the participants to faithfully attend the classes and reap the benefits of the lectures. On the final day, the group was graced by the presence of our Health Education and Promotion Unit (HEPU) consultant, ma'am Alma Bullecer, who also gave a speech regarding the essence of the FHAHP classes.

We look forward to more FHAHP classes in other sitios of barangay Balulang. Padayon!

Family Planning Outreach - September 6, 2024

With the help and assistance of our Barangay Balulang LGU, the City Health Office was able to conduct a Family Planning Outreach with the clients of Xavier Heights Health Center and Lower Balulang Health Center today.

A total of 37 clients were attended, most of whom have availed implant insertion as their choice of modern family planning. Some have also availed other FP services such as DMPA, Pills and IUD insertion.

We are very grateful to our CHO team headed by Dr. Maybelle Honcada and our FP Nurse Coordinator Florencia Jimenez. We were also joined by nurses Pamela Wong of CID and Jennifer Gallegos of Xavier Heights Health Center.

This endeavor would also not be possible without the support of our Barangay Balulang LGU headed by Kap. Edwin Micabani and his technical working group.

Thanks to all our clients!
