✨A Journey of Strength and Hope✨

We are thrilled to share a heartwarming milestone from our NICU! Our brave little patient, born at just 27 weeks on May 20, 2024, has been discharged on August 15, 2024, after an incredible journey of resilience and recovery. From a birth weight of 1000 grams to 2000 grams at discharge, this little fighter has doubled his weight and touched all our hearts.

His journey has been filled with challenges, starting with intubation at birth and undergoing five blood transfusions. He faced multiple complex diagnoses, including acute respiratory failure secondary to severe respiratory distress, which has now resolved, thanks to timely surfactant therapy. He also battled an enlarged abdomen and underwent a barium e***a, with findings suggestive of meconium plug syndrome. Fortunately, the enlarged abdomen resolved, and upon discharge, there were no signs of this issue. The 2D echo revealed a patent foramen ovale, mild patent ductus arteriosus, and increased pulmonary pressure, while a cranial ultrasound showed a grade 4 intracranial hemorrhage, now showing signs of healing.

Through every step of this difficult path, our NICU team has been dedicated to providing the best care possible. We want to extend our deepest gratitude to our multidisciplinary team:

To the entire NICU staff and all those who supported this journey, we celebrate this victory together. This little one’s strength reminds us why we do what we do every day. 💙

Celebrating Breastfeeding Month: A Successful Breastmilk Letting and Lactation Counseling Event

We are delighted to announce the success of our Breastmilk Letting and Lactation Counseling event in celebration of Breastfeeding Month. Thanks to the overwhelming support from the CPMP Nursing Department, NMMC Milk Bank, and the dedicated CPMP Neonatal Intensive Care Unit staff nurses who facilitated the event, we were able to collect an incredible 6,480ml of breastmilk!

A special shout-out to Dr. Mendoza, our tireless lactation consultant, who guided the mothers with care and expertise. We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to our OB-Gyne doctors, particularly Dr. Rubee Ann Gotil, and our neonatal and pediatrician doctors, especially Dr. Jocelyn Go, Dr. Absin, and Dr. Sareno, for their unwavering support.

We are incredibly thankful to the mothers who generously donated their milk and time. Your contribution will significantly impact the lives of many babies, with half of the collected milk staying at the CPMP NICU to nourish our preterm and sick babies.

Together, we are making a difference, one drop at a time.

🌟 Join us for our Breastfeeding Drive next week! 🌟 As a Mother-Baby Friendly Hospital, we're celebrating Breastfeeding Month by supporting mothers and infants, especially those in the NICU.

If you're a breastfeeding parent with a BABY BETWEEN 0 to 6 MONTHS OLD, you can help by donating your excess breastmilk. Your involvement—whether through donations, spreading the word, or connecting us with generous mothers—is crucial. All collected breast milk will go to the NMMC Milk Bank, be pasteurized, and then half of the collected milk will be returned to our little patients.

Plus, we're offering free consultations with Dr. Mendoza for any breastfeeding concerns. Your support can make a huge difference!
