Both tests are important for people living with HIV. Together, they guide treatment, track progress, and keep you on the path to good health.

𝐕𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐨𝐚𝐝 tells us how much HIV is in the body. The goal of HIV treatment is to bring this number down to “𝙪𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚.”

𝐂𝐃𝟒 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭 shows us how strong your immune system is. The higher your CD4, the better your body can protect you.

57 NEW HIV CASES DAILY; 30% INVOLVE MINORS — DOH
The Department of Health (DOH) has reported an alarming average of 57 new human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) cases recorded in the country each day, with nearly 30 percent of patients below 18 years old.

“We have the largest outbreak of new HIV cases. There are 57 new infections daily, and 30 percent of those are minors. This is a serious problem if we are not able to stop this epidemic,” Health Secretary Ted Herbosa said.

𝐇𝐈𝐕 𝐚𝐟𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞.

HIV, or Human Immunodeficiency Virus, 𝐝𝐨𝐞𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐬𝐞 𝐰𝐡𝐨 𝐭𝐨 𝐢𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭. Regardless of gender, age, or background, anyone can be at risk through:

1. Unprotected s*xual contact
2. Sharing of needles
3. Mother-to-child transmission during pregnancy, birth, or breastfeeding
4. Blood transfusion or organ transplant with contaminated blood

Protecting yourself starts with awareness. Remember the 𝐀–𝐁–𝐂–𝐃–𝐄 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐈𝐕 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧:

A – Abstain from risky s*xual encounters
B – Be mutually faithful with your partner
C – Consistent and correct condom use
D – Drug awareness and harm reduction
E – Education, exposure prophylaxis, early detection, and treatment

Awareness is the first step. Prevention is the next.

❗️TUBERCULOSIS PREVENTIVE TREATMENT, NAPATUNAYANG EPEKTIBONG PROTEKSYON SA TB❗️

Ang Tuberculosis Preventive Treatment o TPT ay isang gamot na ibinibigay sa taong na-expose sa isang Tuberculosis (TB) patient.

Mabilis ang transmission o pagkalat ng TB dahil maaaring maipasa ito sa pag-ubo, pagbahing at pagdura.

Ang TPT ay napatunayang mabisa at ligtas na paraan para maprotektahan ang mga high-risk individuals at mapigilan ang pagkalat ng TB.
