In the early 90s, Dr. Rodolfo T. Yu, a Calamba veteran doctor, active in civic and social activities advocating good governance for a better Calamba, saw the need to unite doctors in Calamba. He intended to attain a common identity, promote the betterment of the practice of medicine among its members, and ensure that they strictly adhere to the highest standard of efficiency and code of ethics in
duty, performance with integrity, dedication and discipline. On the 17th of March, 1993, Dr. Rodolfo T. Yu organized the Calamba Medical Society. The society was later named Calamba City Medical Society when the Municipality of Calamba became a city in 2001. In the past 20 years, the society had rendered a variety of dedicated projects and activities geared towards the provision of unwavering service to the society’s members and the people of Calamba City. The Calamba City Medical Society (CCMS) is a professional organization dedicated to assisting physicians in the practice of medicine. CCMS’s mission is in line with the Philippine Medical Association (PMA) that is “to provide the advancement in professional growth and welfare of its members and to promote the common good through the involvement of the members in the community health care.”
Representing more than a hundred competent physicians in Calamba City, CCMS is one of the largest and most active medical societies in Laguna. As a chapter component of the Laguna Medical Society, you will also have access to its resources and the extensive expertise of all members. The CCMS represents all physicians and continuously work together with our specialty societies to establish a unified front against the many obstacles we encounter in our profession. Without strong membership and involvement, your voice and our effectiveness are weakened. Membership in CCMS offers physicians the opportunity to learn about trends in the practice of medicine through committee participation, policy development, educational seminars and publications. In addition, membership provides networking opportunities, membership services, and advocacy.
