DOH opens a BUCAS center at Tanglagan, Calanasan. This was graced by no other than DOH USEC Maria Rosario Vergerie, Governor Butsy Bulut, and Mayor Shamir M. Bulut.
Welcoming them is ADH Chief of Hospital Dr. Ruben Rullan Delos Reyes , ADH department heads, and the community.
This BUCAS center aims to extend medical services to the barangays instead of them availing such from far away hospitals.
BUCAS stands for Bagong Urgent Care Ambulatory Services.
With the cooperation of Far North Luzon General Hospital and Training Center, this BUCAS center will cater to health needs by providing and procuring equipment and medicines as well as medical advice from professionals , ideally on a regular basis.

Calanasan records 14% decrease in Dengue Cases from Jan.-Aug. 3, 2024

Luna, Apayao- For the first semester of 2024, the Municipality of Calanasan logged a decrease in the total number of dengue cases documented from January 1 to August 3, 2024 as compared to the same period last year, according to PHO data.

Calanasan recorded 25 cases, down 4 from a total of 29 in the previous year.

As of August 03, 2024, the Provincial Health Office, along with the Provincial Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit, monitored the 14% difference in the recorded cases.

The Municipal Health Office attributed the reduced number of dengue suspects to the implementation of certain interventions taken like vector surveillance and control.

Actions are taken to monitor clustering and report additional cases to the MESU. When areas have suspects of Dengue infection a clean up and information drive are done, especially employing the 4S strategies – Search and Destroy, Secure Self-protection, Support Fogging and Spraying, and Seek Early Consultation.

The MHO, despite the reduction of cases, continues to urge the public to maintain a clean environment and eliminate any potential mosquito breeding grounds in their local areas in order to continue decreasing the incidence of dengue cases.

We do Disease Surveillance on a daily basis as part of Apayao Provincial Health Office and DOH CAR RESU protocol. But we do not give out names of dengue patients to anybody as compliance to Republic Act 10173 or the Data Privacy Act of 2012.
Names are uploaded in the EDS-CIS website by our trained DS officers.

Anyway, we at ADH always do our best in the diagnosis and management of this disease.
