Not all coughs are caused by infection.
Sometimes, children cough because of:
• Allergies
• Asthma
• Post-nasal drip (sipon sa likod ng ilong)
• Acid reflux
• Smoke or other irritants

Even if the cough is from an infection, most are caused by VIRUSES (like common colds). Antibiotics do NOT work on viruses. They are only needed for certain bacterial infections.

Giving antibiotics when not needed can cause side effects and make medicines less effective in the future.

If your child has a cough, it's best to have them checked so we can find the real cause.
