Digital Eye Strain A.K.A. Computer Vision Syndrome

Do you think you have this? Usually it presents with headache, stinging of the eyes, tearing as well as eye heaviness. Does eye glasses with “blue light protection” work?

WHAT IS DIGITAL EYE STRAIN?

Digital eye strain is a group of eye and vision-related problems that results from prolonged usage of computers, tablets, e-readers, and cell phones. Common symptoms include dry eyes, blurry vision, tearing or watery eyes, and headache. One common cause is when you blink less when you stare at your devices. People normally blink around 15 times per minute, but this “blink rate” can be cut in half when staring at screens.
