The Immaculada Concepcion College of Soldiers Hills, Caloocan City Inc. โ Health Services Office supports the observance of the National Awareness Week for the Prevention of Sexual Abuse and Exploitation.
The National Awareness Week for the Prevention of Sexual Abuse and Exploitation is observed to educate the public about the seriousness of sexual abuse and exploitation, especially among children and vulnerable individuals. This campaign highlights the importance of prevention, early detection, and proper response to protect individuals from physical, emotional, and psychological harm.
Sexual abuse and exploitation can occur in many forms, including inappropriate touching, coercion, online exploitation, trafficking, and abuse by people the victim may know or trust. These acts can have long-lasting effects on a personโs mental health, self-esteem, and overall well-being. Many victims suffer in silence due to fear, shame, or lack of awareness about where to seek help.
Prevention begins with education and awareness. Teaching individuals about body autonomy, consent, and personal boundaries empowers them to recognize unsafe situations and speak up. Parents, educators, and communities play a vital role by creating a safe, open, and supportive environment where concerns can be reported without fear of judgment.
Everyone has a role in preventing sexual abuse and exploitation. By staying informed, watching for warning signs, promoting respectful behavior, and supporting victims, we help build a safer and healthier community. Awareness is not just about knowingโit is about taking action to protect one another.
If you or someone you know needs help or support, do not hesitate to reach out to trusted authorities.
A safe community begins with awareness and responsibility. Together, we can help prevent abuse and protect lives.
