Dahil ang mga bato (kidneys) ang pangunahing gumagawa ng hormone na EPO, kapag ang mga ito ay may pinsala, bumababa ang produksyon nito. Ito ang dahilan kung bakit ang mga pasyenteng nagda-dialysis o may Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) ay karaniwang nagiging anemic at nangangailangan ng Epoetin injection.

2 vials 2x a week ang iniinject sa husband ko
kasi 10.0 lang ang hemoglobin nya
