💉 Five Years na Walang Flu/Trangkaso:
Bakit Taon-Taon Ako Nagpapabakuna ng Flu Vaccine

Bilang isang doktor, araw-araw kong nakikita kung gaano kalala ang epekto ng flu — minsan simpleng lagnat lang, pero minsan umaabot pa sa ospital. Kaya sa loob ng limang taon, hindi ako pumapalya sa taunang flu vaccine ko.

Ang resulta? Hindi na ako trinatrangkaso. Magkasakit man ako ay simpleng ubo o sipon lang na maaaring dulot ng ibang mikrobiyo o mahina na epekto ng flu virus dahil sa proteksiyon ng bakuna.

Siyempre, walang bakuna na 100% garantisado. Pero malaking tulong ito para bumaba ang tsansa mong magkasakit nang malala. At kung sakaling magka-flu ka pa rin, kadalasan ay mas banayad ang sintomas at mas mabilis ang paggaling.

Madalas kong marinig sa mga pasyente: “Hindi na ako magpapa-flu vaccine, hindi naman ako nagkaka-flu.” Pero ang totoo, nagbabago ang flu virus taon-taon, kaya mahalagang magpabakuna bawat "season" o taon-taon para manatiling protektado.

Hindi lang ito tungkol sa sarili mo — nakakatulong ka ring maprotektahan ang pamilya mo, mga kaibigan, at mga taong mas mahina ang resistensya.

Kung hindi ka pa nakakakuha ng flu vaccine ngayong taon, ito na ang friendly reminder mo: ilang minuto lang sa clinic, kapalit ay mga buwan ng proteksyon. 💪
