Noong Pebrero 19, 2026, isinagawa ang lay forum na “Kutis ni Baby: Alaga Mula Unang Araw” sa Pediatric Outpatient Department. Pinanungahan ng ating Pediatric Dermatology Unit Head na si Dr. Wilsie Salas-Walinsundin, kasama ang mga residente, ang pagbabahagi ng mga praktikal at evidence-based na payo sa pag-aalaga ng balat ng sanggol. Mula sa tamang paliligo, moisturization at hanggang sa maagang pagkilala sa mga karaniwang kondisyon ng balat.

Taos-pusong nagpapasalamat sa lahat ng mga pamilyang lumahok. Sapagkat ang malusog na balat ng bawat sanggol ay nagsisimula sa tamang kaalaman — simula pa sa unang araw. 💛

Noong Pebrero 11, 2026, isinagawa ng Philippine Dermatological Society, kasama ang Department of Health, Culion Foundation Inc., at ang World Health Organization, ang "BIGAY PUSO 2026" sa Dr. Jose N. Rodriguez Memorial Hospital and Sanitarium — isang nagkakaisang panawagan upang lampasan ang paggamot at tugunan ang mga hadlang na panlipunan na kinakaharap ng mga Persons Affected by Leprosy.

Kasama sa programa ang mga taga Department of Health na sina Dr. Ma. Regina de Jesus Valdez from the Disease Prevention and Control Bureau of the National Leprosy Control Program (NLCP), at Mr. Ramon Ferrer, Leprosy Program Coordinator of the Metro Manila Center for Health Development. Galing sa Culion Foundation Inc., ang mga speakers na sina Mr. Eugenio M. Caccam Jr., Executive Director; Dr. Francesca Cando-Gajete, former NLCP Program Manager and Trustee of the foundation at Dr. Arturo C. Cunanan Jr., Past Medical Center Chief I; ang World Health Organization, Neglected Tropical Disease Consultant na si Mr. Alexander Taruc, si Mr. Ariel Lazarte na representative ng Hansen’s Disease Club and the Coalition of Leprosy Advocates of the Philippines, at si Dr. Luisa Abad-Venida, miyembro ng Council of Elders and Past Head of the Leprosy Subspecialty Core Group.

Higit sa isang outreach activity, ang Bigay Puso ay kawangis ng pagmamahal sa pagkilos — sapagkat bagama’t nagagamot ng medisina ang sakit, ang empatiya, respeto, at pagkakaisa ang tunay na nagbibigay-galing.

Ngayong World Leprosy Day, pinagtitibay natin ang kaalaman laban sa takot at stigma.

Ang leprosy ay nagagamot at nalulunasan kapag ito ay maagang natukoy. Kung may napapansing pamamanhid, sugat, o pantal na hindi gumagaling, kumonsulta sa doktor agad.

Sa tamang impormasyon at malasakit, sama-sama nating maaabot ang isang mundong walang leprosy.
