This statue, titled "El Esfuerzo" (The Effort) or "La Carga" (The Burden), is located in Barcelona, Spain, on Carrer de la Princesa near the intersection with Via Laietana.

The sculpture was created by artist Jaume Plensa. It depicts a woman carrying a large burden of household items, symbolizing the weight of domestic responsibilities often borne by women, while children cling to her, representing the generational impact of this burden.

I'm sharing it because, like the artist, I appreciate every woman shouldering the responsibility of a home.
