The TWA Health and Guidance Services successfully conducted its Mental Health Awareness Symposium Phase 2, Year 4 with the theme “Beyond Awareness: Healing, Hope, and Inner Strength.” Through the initiative of Mrs. Madonna V. Macatangay, Head of the Health Services Department, the event aimed to deepen students’ understanding of mental health and encourage them to develop resilience, self-awareness, and emotional strength.
The symposium was hosted by Neythan Elcano and John Joshua De Sasil, together with the other Peer Educators Jude Chloee Macatangay, Clyde Manalo, Miley Cerezo, and Jameela Magalong, who served as the symposium’s moderators under the guidance of the Health and Guidance Services. The event was also attended by members of the High School Administration, headed by Mr. John Joseph A. Umandap.
The first speaker, Rev. Fr. Jay Mark Jaluage, emphasized spiritual awareness and highlighted the importance of faith in nurturing inner strength and sustaining hope during difficult times.
The second speaker, Ms. Jenny Valderas, discussed the importance of recognizing and understanding one’s current emotions, explaining how emotional awareness can greatly influence relationships and decision-making.
The third and final speaker, Ms. Jasper Ann Sta. Maria, focused on practical techniques that help individuals manage and understand their emotions, enabling them to develop stronger inner resilience and emotional stability.
