On April 7, 2026 (Tuesday), the 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝘂𝗿𝘃𝗲𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁 (𝗥𝗘𝗦𝗨) 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 – 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗼𝗻 1, in collaboration with 𝗣𝗘𝗦𝗨 and 𝗣𝗗𝗢𝗛𝗢 teams, conducted a technical assistance visit and monitoring evaluation of CESU functionality including programs on Vaccine-Preventable Diseases (VPD) and STI/HIV/AIDS through the City Health Office.

This milestone reflects the city’s steadfast commitment to excellence in delivering efficient, reliable, and people-centered public health services.

🚨🏀 𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐅𝐈𝐄𝐃 𝐅𝐎𝐑 𝐀 𝐒𝐀𝐅𝐄 𝐑𝟏𝐀𝐀 ⚽️🏐

The City Health Office staff, headed by Dra. Joy P. Villanueva, actively participated in the Send-Off Ceremony of the Security and Public Safety Elements for the Region 1 Athletic Association (R1AA) Meet 2026 held on April 4, 2026 in Candon City Arena.

The activity was graced by Hon. Eric D. Singson, City Mayor, and PCOL Agosto M. Asuncion, Provincial Director of the Ilocos Sur Police Provincial Office, together with various partner agencies including the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), and other key stakeholders.

As part of the overall response framework, the CHO stands alongside the Security and Public Safety Elements, providing essential health and medical support services to ensure full preparedness for the event.

This initiative highlights the strong collaboration among agencies in ensuring not only safety and security, but also the health, safety, and well-being of all participants, delegates, and spectators throughout the R1AA Meet 2026.

📢 PUBLIC ADVISORY

The Animal Bite Treatment Center (ABTC) of Candon City Health Office informs the public that there will be no clinic services on Monday, April 6, 2026, in line with the conduct of the Region 1 Athletics Association (R1AA) Games scheduled on April 5–10, 2026.

Regular services will resume on the next vaccination schedule: April 13, 2026.

For urgent concerns, especially animal bite exposures, please proceed to the nearest available Animal Bite Treatment Center or hospital for immediate care.

🏡 𝐁𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐇𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐓𝐇 𝐂𝐋𝐎𝐒𝐄𝐑 | 𝐏𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐊𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐬𝐮𝐠𝐚𝐧

26 March 2026 | The barangays of 𝑺𝒂𝒏 𝑨𝒏𝒅𝒓𝒆𝒔, 𝑷𝒂𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒂𝒑𝒂𝒄, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑪𝒖𝒃𝒄𝒖𝒃𝒃𝒖𝒐𝒕 were successfully gathered for the PuroKalusugan (PK) Re-Launching Activity of the Department of Health.

Implemented through a clustered barangay approach, the activity brought together participants in one venue and delivered essential health services, including:
✔️ Free check-ups
✔️ Medical and Dental consultations
✔️ Medicines and other health services

Beneficiaries from each barangay participated in the activity, together with barangay officials, Barangay Health Workers, and other community members.

This initiative further strengthened the delivery of primary health care services and brought quality health care closer to the people 💪

Together, we continue to build healthier and stronger communities!

In preparation for the upcoming R1AA to be hosted by the City of Candon, the City Health Office (𝑆𝑎𝑛𝑖𝑡𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛), in collaboration with the Provincial Health Office, is already taking proactive measures to ensure the safety and well-being of all delegates and visitors.

𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒖𝒂𝒍 𝒔𝒑𝒓𝒂𝒚𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒎𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈, 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒇𝒐𝒈𝒈𝒊𝒏𝒈 are currently being conducted in 𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒔𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒍𝒔 to prevent the spread of mosquito-borne diseases.

𝟮𝟬 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 | As part of the ongoing 25th City Fiesta Celebration of Candon, the City Health Office Medical Team remained on full standby during the To***co Day festivities.

Earlier in the morning, activities were dedicated to local to***co farmers—recognizing their hard work and invaluable contribution to one of Candon’s key industries.

As the celebration continued, major highlights such as the Search for Miss To***co Philippines and a special performance from the SexBomb Dancers drew large crowds, making health and safety a top priority.

The CHO Medical Team was strategically deployed and ready to respond, providing immediate medical assistance and ensuring a safe and orderly celebration for all.

From morning activities to evening highlights, CHO stayed committed—always present, always ready.
