April 10, 2026 – The MSWD conducted its monthly meeting with Child Development Workers to discuss key updates and upcoming activities.

The meeting focused on the preparation for the implementation of the Supplemental Feeding Program, feedback on the recently concluded Moving-Up Ceremonies, and updates on the CDC assessment for recognition.

Also present during the meeting was Hon. Florena A. Uriarte, Chairperson on Social Services, who expressed her continued support for programs and initiatives that promote the welfare and development of children in the community.

Ingon sa gitakda, ang MSWD exempted sa 4 Day Compressed Work Week aron makapadayon sa paghatag ug basic ug emergency services. Kini nga exemption nagsiguro sa walay hunong nga paghatod sa mga importanteng serbisyo ngadto sa publiko.

𝐃𝐇𝐒𝐔𝐃 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐀𝐢𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐅𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐂𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐧

The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) Region XIII, led by PDO III Joseph Care B. Cabaltera, paid a courtesy call to Mayor Philip Arreza Pichay before facilitating the distribution of financial assistance under the Integrated Disaster Shelter Assistance Program (IDSAP).

A total of 11 beneficiaries, victims of last year’s fire incident in Barangays Parang and Magosilom, each received ₱30,000.00 to support their recovery and rebuilding efforts.

The activity was conducted in coordination with the Local Government Unit of Cantilan, with the support and presence of Kenneth B. Yparraguirre, ensuring an orderly and efficient payout.

This initiative underscores DHSUD’s continued commitment to helping disaster-affected families rebuild their lives.

March 6, 2026 — The MSWD Office and the Office of the Senior Citizen Affairs proudly participated in Purple Friday, joining the nationwide observance of the 2026 National Women’s Month Celebration.

As part of this initiative, all LGU employees and officials are encouraged to wear purple clothing every Friday throughout March 2026.

This collective effort underscores women’s strength, leadership, and resilience, with this year’s sub-theme, “Lead like the Babaylans, Filipinas!”, honoring the wisdom and courage of Filipina leaders who continue to inspire communities today.

March 4, 2026 | Brgy. Pag-antayan Gymnasium

The Municipal Social Welfare and Development (MSWD) Office of Cantilan conducted the distribution of Family Food Packs and Non-Food Items to families and individuals affected by the fire incident that occurred on February 24, 2026, in Purok 6, Brgy. Pag-antayan, Cantilan, Surigao del Sur.

The distributed items included food packs, sleeping kits, family kits, hygiene kits, and kitchen kits to support the immediate needs of the displaced residents.

The relief assistance was provided by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) through the strong partnership with the Local Government Unit of Cantilan, headed by Mayor Philip A. Pichay.

This initiative reflects the continued commitment of the Local Government and partner agencies in extending timely assistance to affected families during times of crisis.
