High blood pressure, also known as , is the world’s leading killer and causes heart attack, stroke and kidney disease. Today, 1.4 BILLION people around the world are affected, yet fewer than 1 in 5 have it under control. In the Philippines, there are around 16.8 million adults with hypertension, and most (approximately 13.6 million) do not have it under control.
Today, WHO will launch the Global report on hypertension 2025 at UN General Assembly to present new data and country experiences and guide stronger action.
