"Reviewing progress for healthier outcomes!"

LGU Carmen has practiced the yearly Nutrition Program Implementation Review since 2023 to review, assess and evaluate programs, projects and services to determine the extent of the nutrition program implementation and impact. It was facilitated by Jove Jayson - Hermoso, the Municipal Nutrition Program Coordinator and Nutrition Officer II, Ms. Geraldine Mae Pausanos-Buendia. Together with us during the presentation was the Municipal Planning & Development Coordinator, Engr. Shemer Lev Pagusara and the 21 Barangay Nutrition Workers with their partner Barangay Health Workers.

Daghan kaayong salamat everyone for your valuable time and support during the recent review of our nutrition program implementation.

To the MNC and BNC members your feedback and guidance have been instrumental in helping us assess our progress, identify strengths, and address areas for improvement.

"Hearts and hands for elder care!"

Conducted the geriatric care screening for senior citizens orientation to Barangay Health Workers designated as the geriatric care focal persons.

The orientation aims to help the BHWs in the conduct of assessment and screening to identify frequent problems, thus leading to earlier interventions for the common medical and social concerns of the elderly population. It aims to protect and enhance the safety, health, wellbeing and quality of life of older people.

Thank you everyone for you active and cooperative participation in the Geriatric Care Orientation. Your dedication to understanding and improving elderly care reflects kindness, respect, and responsibility.

"Turning visions into achievable plans!"

LGU Carmen conducted a 2-day Barangay Nutrition Action Plan Workshop and Updates with the Barangay Captains, Barangay Nutrition Workers and Barangay Secretaries.

The BNAP activity helps outlines nutrition targets, programs and projects, work plans, budget requirements, and monitoring and evaluation schemes to address malnutrition issues in the barangay over the next 3 years.

LGU Carmen conducts the Philippine Integrated Management of Acute Malnutrition (PIMAM) Orientation activity to equip our frontline nutrition champions with the knowledge and skills necessary to manage Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM) and Moderate Acute Malnutrition (MAM) in children aged 6 months to 5 years old.

"Empowered with knowledge, united in service!"✨️

A 3-day Barangay Health Workers Basic Competencies Training to various DOH mandated programs was conducted which includes Communicable and Non-communicable disease program, Nutrition program, Family Planning Program and many others.

The training aims to equip BHWs with the essential skills and knowledge on Basic, Common, and Core Competencies as recommended by the DOH. They are trained as Community Organizers, Health Promoters and assist in the delivery of healthcare services and other activities at the grassroots level.

Highlighted the Breastfeeding Campaign in celebration of Breastfeeding Awareness Month.

Heartfelt gratitude to the organizers, speakers, and facilitators of the BHW Basic Competencies Training. The lessons and hands-on experiences have greatly enhanced the abilities of our Barangay Health Workers. This training will surely help provide better and more effective health services to our community.

"Shaping skills, building responsibility!"✨️

The Municipality of Carmen, Cebu conducts a 2-day BNS Basic Course Refresher Training in celebration of the 51st Nutrition Month Celebration with the theme "Food at Nutrition Security, Maging Priority! Sapat na Pagkain Karapatan Natin". The activity was facilitated by Nutrition Officer II Miss Franz Cassandra Ontina and Miss Geraldine Mae Pausanos - Buendia. Dakong pasalamat to everyone who supported and guided us through the 2-day Training. The experience has strengthened our discipline, teamwork, and character to bring out a better and healthy community.

The training aims to enhance the skills and knowledge of Barangay Nutrition Workers in promoting breastfeeding, good nutrition and linking communities to services.
